As part of Bayport-Blue Point High School’s Alumni Connections series, Kevin Maher, a Bayport-Blue Point High School Class of 1993 alumnus and News12 newscaster, visited the high school to speak with students in the Broadcast Club about careers in journalism.
Kevin shared the story of how his career began, showed clips of news stories he had written and participated in and offered valuable insights into the field. Students also had the unique opportunity to see his Emmy Award up-close.
The Broadcast Club advisors, Mike Plugues and Matt McMullan, guided the students in preparing thoughtful questions for Kevin. In addition, Kevin graciously agreed to participate in the school’s weekly Friday morning video announcements segment.
