Blue Point Elementary recently hosted a memorable family literacy event, A Night on the 'READ’ Carpet, bringing together students, families and staff in a celebration of reading and writing.
Throughout the evening, families walked the red carpet, exploring displays of student work from each class. The work showcased the various stages of the writing process from notebooks and first drafts to polished published pieces. The event also featured creative touches, including book page corsages, photo opportunities and BPE commentators interviewing students about their work.
The night culminated in an award ceremony for books that were voted on during the week, followed by the reveal of the “guess the teacher on the red carpet” pictures, which had been a fun guessing game throughout the week.
The event was a huge success!
