Recently, students in Mrs. Erika Serraino's class participated in a special tour of the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts.
This tour, along with others throughout the year, provide students with the opportunity to see different jobs offered within the community. During their tour of the theater, students were able to observe how employees utilize job skills that the students learn about in the classroom.
Students explored different parts of the theater and were given explanations on all the different jobs available, such as lighting technician, ticket booth attendant, sound board operator, usher, stage technician and back of the house assistants, as well as what skills and education are required for the different positions. Students also had the chance to examine the theater’s equipment and even showcase their performance skills on stage.
