Motivational speaker Lloyd Bachrach visited Sylvan Avenue Elementary School to deliver his uplifting, “Yes, You Can!” program to the third, fourth and fifth grade classes.
Lloyd was born with a congenital bone deficiency which left his legs unusually small. Due to the severity of his disability, doctors suggested there would be little or no hope for a normal life for Lloyd. Then, in high school and college, Lloyd became a champion gymnast, competing against able-bodied athletes. Among his many accomplishments, in 1996, he competed on the USA Paralympic sit volleyball squad. Now, Lloyd travels the country delivering his message of positivity and hope.
The assembly at Sylvan Avenue centered around overcoming adversity to succeed. Lloyd’s positive message inspired and motivated the elementary students to reach their ultimate potential and go for their dreams no matter what their circumstance.
