To further promote and instill belonging, one of Bayport-Blue Point’s districtwide values, Sylvan Avenue Elementary fifth graders paired up with the school’s universal pre-K students for a buddy bonding activity.
The fifth graders read various books of their choosing to the pre-K students to both cultivate a love of reading and to help foster tight-knit bonds amongst the school’s oldest and youngest. The school hopes to continue this time of mentorship and connection with various activities throughout the year.
