Dear BPE Families,

Albert Einstein said, “Time flies when you are having fun!” and that is surely true this year.  I can’t believe it is 2019 and the year is almost halfway over!  Some of the fun we’ve had includes the Halloween Ball, a trip to see the Nutcracker, “Start with Hello” Week, and our Winter Concert.  Of course there is so much more to come in the next few months!

Like I said in the beginning of the year, communication is very important in making a positive home-school connection.  There are many ways the school communicates throughout the year. Teachers send home newsletters, letters, and/or emails on a consistent basis and are always willing to meet to discuss any concerns.  As a building, there are many ways to stay informed:
• Monthly Calendar: In the beginning of the month, a calendar of events going on in the building is sent home.  Keep this in a place where it’s visible as it is a great resource.
• School Website: This is updated frequently and is also another great place to look for important information.
• Weekly Email: Every Sunday around 1pm, you will receive an email from me with how the previous week went as well as what’s coming up in the future.
• Twitter: @BPESchool This is the best way to see what’s going on in the building on a daily basis. There you will see pictures of students working and having fun in school.  There will also be reminders and updates to keep you informed in a quick way.

It has been amazing watching the BPE students grow and mature over the last few months.  We’ve focused on being kind, being respectful, and finding a “go-to” person to share good news with as well as talk about any problems.   We are working really hard to incorporate these ideas into the school and hope you are fostering these types of discussions at home.

Thank you for all your support so far this year and I look forward to a great start to 2019.
