Katherine Heinlein
(term expires 2019)
Twitter: @kathy_heinlein

Katherine has been a resident of Bayport-Blue Point for over 30 years and was born and raised in Sayville.  Both her sons Bryan (2005) and David (2010) graduated from BBP and continue to reside in Bayport. David continuing the family commitment to community volunteering and being a member of the Bayport Fire Department for over six years and a past Lieutenant.
Katherine served six years on the BBP Board from 2005-2012 and was one of the six Suffolk County representative for the FRN (Federal Relations Network) for 4 years in Washington. She also served on the NYSSBA Resolution Committee for three of those years.  Her tenures also included being elected to the Eastern Suffolk BOCES Board as well as Past President, Vice President and Board member of the BBP Chamber of Commerce.  Her commitment to education is evident, as a returning trustee, as well as her commitment to the community and being fiscally responsible to all.  Owning small businesses, and coming from a family of small business owners, she appreciates the balance needed for that fiscal responsibility.  She recently received the second highest achievement level a trustee can receive from NYSSBA the Board Mastery Award.  This recognition is for the extensive time and effort for school board members who strive to continually expand their governance knowledge and skills.  During her first year as a school board member in 2005 Katherine started the Senior Resident Dinner, as well as the Senior Night at the Theater, with almost 400 attendees.
